Why I Left (And Why I Returned)
There’s a moment in every healing journey when you circle back to the beginning; not because you failed, but because you’ve grown. For me, that beginning was this kitchen. This blog. This space. And now, I’ve returned.
After stepping away to tend to the invisible, unpredictable rhythms of autoimmune life, I realized something essential: healing isn’t just about protocols and plans. It’s about ritual. And food.
In this post, I want to share why I’ve returned to Rainbow in My Kitchen, and how this space is evolving to hold not just recipes, but also rituals, reflections, and real tools for autoimmune healing and mindful living.
The Ritual of Food
Living with autoimmune issues often feels like walking through fog. One moment you’re steady, the next you’re navigating flares and fatigue. For a while, I needed stillness. I needed to retreat inward, to listen without having to explain. The kitchen went quiet.
But over time, I noticed something: the days I felt most grounded, most present, were the days I returned to food as a ritual—not just as fuel.
Chopping vegetables slowly. Stirring a pot while breathing deeply. Sitting at the table with intention. Food became less about control and more about care. And I missed sharing that care with you.
What “Rainbow in My Kitchen” Means Now
This space began as a collection of plant-based, gluten-free recipes – simple, colorful meals designed to nourish. That foundation hasn’t changed. But now, I’m layering in something deeper.
I’m exploring how food connects to:
- Autoimmune healing: Gut-supportive recipes, anti-inflammatory ingredients, and daily rituals that help reduce flares and support the nervous system.
- Mindful living: How we cook, eat, and even breathe around food matters more than we think.
- Life as theatre: A gentle metaphor guiding this next chapter—where every meal, every moment, becomes a scene in the larger story of healing.
So yes, you’ll still find rainbow bowls, golden soups, and nourishing desserts. But alongside them, you’ll find reflections, rituals, and tools for living with intention and grace, even when your body feels unpredictable.
What You’ll Find Here Going Forward
If you’re navigating chronic illness, burnout, or simply seeking deeper connection to your food and your body, you’re in the right place.
Here’s what to expect:
- Gluten-free, plant-based recipes focused on gut and immune health

Let’s Heal Together
My hope is that this space becomes more than a recipe archive—it becomes a sanctuary. A place where we cook to heal, write to reflect, and live with grace and intention.
